What We Do

Make sure your employees have the right skill set for their jobs

Microsoft Office Training at your Offices

We specialise in running Microsoft Office training courses at your offices, or meeting rooms, in Kent and London.

Our trainers arrive with everything needed for a successful days training.  Why put your staff through the stress of travelling when we can come to you? Your staff can make the most of their day, as time away from their desks is kept to a minimum.

Our small group of highly experienced trainers live in Kent and London and most of our work is carried out in this area.  We do also run courses in many different locations, and our clients often ask us to travel to their offices in other parts of the UK.  Expenses are always charged at cost.

If you have a fully equipped training room we can supply an instructor.  Alternatively, we can set up our laptops in your offices.

Free Laptop Hire

We can supply you with up to six laptops to be used for the training. Free laptop hire is included in the price of the majority of our courses.

Very few companies have a fully equipped IT training room, and the last thing you want to do is start moving computers around. Our trainers can set up laptops in about 15 minutes in a suitable meeting room at your offices, or we can hire a meeting room near you.

Our laptops run all the most recent versions of Microsoft Office and have a large keyboard with mouse.

What types of training are available?

We offer instructor led courses, conference style training, on-line training, floor walking, group training and one-to-one training.

Instructor Led Courses

The majority of our training is Instructor led training. Each student uses a PC or laptop and the trainer's laptop is projected onto a TV or screen. Students are taken logically through features and are given time to practice and consolidate learning. We would recommend an ideal maximum group size of eight, although this could be increased with prior arrangement. Instructor led training is very popular for getting up to speed with the core Microsoft Office programs.

Conference Style Training

If you're upgrading to a new version of Office, Conference Style workshops are often the most cost effective solution. Features are demonstrated by a trainer and discussed in a conference situation. Delegates are provided with detailed notes and can be visited by a floor walker at their desk for further help. Conference Style training is suitable for groups of up to 35 delegates.

Floor Walking

Upgrading to Microsoft Office 2016? A great way to manage the rollout of new software is to use Conference Style training and floor walkers. Floor walkers visit the students at their desks to answer questions and iron-out problems.

Online Training

There are times when it's not always possible, or feasible, for training to be conducted onsite. Therefore we offer Microsoft instructor led training on a simple to use online system that makes it easy for users to improve their Microsoft and IT skills at times convenient to them. This cost effective IT training solution doesn’t take staff away from their desk for any length of time and can be easily worked into even the most hectic of schedules.

Online Training is carried out by our sister company, Oregen Computer Training, and further information on online training can be found on the Oregen's website.

What Type Of Training Is Suitable For Me?

Training requirements vary widely from business to business. Please contact us to discuss proposed solutions to meet your training needs.

Group Training & One-to-One Training

Depending on your training requirements you may organise training for a group of staff or run one-to-one training.

Any groups you organise ideally need to have similar skill level and expectations. Our ideal maximum group size is eight students. Keeping the groups at smaller manageable levels gives more chance of getting like-minded staff together, and the larger the group the more likely they will have differing experience. Groups will always vary in experience but the wider the difference is the more it can slow down the training. When you're organising training for a group, carrying out Training Needs Analysis before the training can have a big impact on its success.

One-to-one training can be very effective at targeting individual requirements and getting staff up and running on a particular program in a short timescale. Unlike other companies, we do not charge extra for one-to-one training.

Training Needs Analysis

If you're reading this, you've probably already carried out a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and identified a need for Microsoft Office training in your company. Let's assume, for example, that you've identified a need for Excel training. What level are your staff at? Are they just starting out with Excel or are they already experienced users looking to explore the more advanced features? Are there particular jobs they need to get done, or do they just want to know more? Do they need a one-day training course, or can they only spare a few hours?

We can help you make these vital TNA decisions to make sure the training is effective and targeted.

One approach to refining your TNA, is to show your staff the Courses available on our website, and ask them to choose the course that best fills their skills gap. Alternatively, they can 'cherry pick' features from any of our courses to design their own bespoke course. If they are quite experienced users of Word or Excel they may want to choose a short Modular Course to brush on up a particular feature.

For a more structured measured approach, we have free TNA quizzes available for all our major courses. The quizzes take the shape of multiple choice questionnaires to help determine the level of knowledge your staff currently have.

We can send you the quizzes and you can mark the results yourself, or alternatively we can do this for you. If you're organising courses for a group of staff this is a great way of identifying workable groups.

Please contact us if you would like help with training needs analysis and designing effective courses for your staff.
